Pillow boxes are best suited to lightweight items — the push-in curved closure is not a structural lock and will open under significant downward load. For items over approximately 150–200 g, a tuck-end or lock-bottom carton format will perform more reliably in transit. For heavier items where you want a soft, rounded aesthetic, a bellybanded tuck-end box can sometimes approximate the visual character of a pillow box.

Yes, though less commonly than on standard tuck-end boxes. A die-cut window on the flat face of a pillow box — typically rectangular or oval — with a food-safe PET film insert is achievable. The curved geometry of the box means the window needs to be positioned on the flat (non-curved) portion of the face panel.
