Yes. All food service cardboard trays are produced using food-grade board, food-safe adhesive formulations, and printing inks compliant with Australian food contact regulations. For trays used with high-fat or high-moisture food products, a greaseproof or moisture-resistant interior coating is applied. Material certification documentation is available for food service tray orders where hospital catering, aged care, or retail food buyer compliance programmes require traceability evidence.

An open tray (four walls, no lid) presents the product from above — used for retail product display, food service portion presentation, bakery counter display, and logistics pick trays where product needs to be accessed quickly. A lidded tray adds a full lid, partial lid, or windowed lid panel over the open top — used where hygiene, security, or enclosed presentation is required during transit or display. Both configurations are available in any combination of dimensions and depth.

Tray depth is determined by the product height and any headspace required above the product. For retail display trays, minimal headspace is typical — the product should be clearly visible and easily accessible. For food service trays, depth is specified to the portion height plus approximately 10–15 mm clearance. For logistics pick trays, depth is typically 40–80 mm to contain the product securely during handling. Yes. Full-colour CMYK printing is available on the exterior panels of all cardboard tray formats. For retail display trays, branded graphics on the tray walls and base create visual brand presence at the counter or shelf level alongside the product. For food service trays, simpler branded graphics (logo, business name) are the standard. For plain logistics or warehouse trays, unprinted white or kraft board is available at lower cost.

Standard food service portion trays use 350–400 gsm SBS clay board — sufficient for the load and handling typical of food service portioning and customer carry. For larger trays carrying heavier food portions (whole roasted chickens, large portion meals), 400–450 gsm or a lock-base construction provides additional structural security. For corrugated cardboard trays in industrial or bulk produce applications, single-wall corrugated board is specified based on the weight and handling requirements.

Yes. Greaseproof interior coating is a standard upgrade for food service trays used with high-fat or oily food products — charcuterie, cheese, pastries, fried foods, or heavily sauced items. The coating prevents oil and moisture from migrating through the board, maintaining the structural integrity of the tray and keeping the exterior clean.
